As far as we are aware, the S10 never had measurements associated with mask sizes when issued by Avon. For fitting within the British Armed Forces, a mask of a certain size was held up to the face to see if it fit. This is our rough guide to help with the sizing of your mask. If you fall between two sizes, choose the larger size to accommodate jaw movement. Sizes 2 and 3 are the most common sizes which will fit most people. Sizes 1 and 4 are rarer as they were not commonly issued and are harder to find, these sizes will incur a £25 extra charge.
S10 Gas Masks come in four sizes:
1 – Large
2 – Medium Large
3 – Medium Small
4 – Small
Measurement 1: From the bottom of the chin cup to the middle of the eye lenses.
Measurement 2: From the bottom of the chin cup to the top of the inside of the mask.
Measurement 3: From side to side of the inside of the mask at the middle of the eye lenses.
Use the table below and reference image (taken from the FM12 guide) to determine which size will be the best fit.
